Never Quit

August 29, 2017

I'm at that point where I feel like pulling my hair out of my head, not literally, of course. I can write a full-length novel in practically no time - depending on what's going on at home and how much time I can devote to the task. But then...

Dun Dun Duun

The editing process begins.

I have new a appreciation for every book I read now that I know what goes into creating the final product. It's unbelievable how much time and effort goes into the editing and revision process. It's gruesome, tiresome, and sucks the living energy out of me.

With that being said, once the manuscript is complete, I am ecstatic. It's the points between writing and getting to that end point which kicks my butt.

Book one of my Music For the Heart Series, Hold Me, is finally finished with its first round of edits. Yay!

I feel like I've dropped off the face of the earth while working on it. I've spent countless hours in front of my computer, jamming to my favorite writing playlist which runs on a constant loop and makes my husband insane from hearing the same songs repeatedly. Oh well, too bad for him. Those songs inspire and drive me.

I'm ready for a mini-break until book two, Promise To Fulfill, comes back for initial revisions.

What I consider a break is the actual writing process. That is where I feel at home, in my happy place.

It's important that I balance the two because there are days when I just want to say, "Screw it." But I let the frustration slide because I know I am working toward a goal and that goal is my passion for sharing my happily-ever after stories with my readers.

Let's keep it mind as we confront different situations so the difficult stuff doesn't burn us out to the point where we can't focus on the good and fun stuff!
