A Story To Tell...

I finished writing the Hilltops novella. Yay!

It still has to go through edits so it'll be a while. I'll be sure to let you know when it's ready to give away - that's right, give away, for free!

It was so much fun diving back into the minds of Noah, Jordin, Derek, Emily, Mitch, and Allie. I didn't realize how much I had missed them.

I was telling my husband how I tried to give each character an equal amount of chapters and he found it so funny that I consider my characters to be real - how I felt bad if one character got more than the others.

Well, to me they are real and each character's voice deserves to be heard. It wouldn't be right to show favoritism, same as with my children.

With that being said, I will add that Allie does get a bonus chapter but it's needed for closure. I love all the Dorians the same.

It all comes down to the simple fact that each of us has a story to tell. No matter who we are or where we come from, we all have different experiences which shaped us. It's no different for the characters I create. Their early experiences shaped who they became as adults.

I say, let's use our voices to share our stories and be heard because all of our stories count.

FYI - I am the master at remaining silent and keeping my feelings locked in tight. Sounds similar to a lot of my characters, doesn't it? Just sayin'.

Maybe that's why writing is so cathartic for me. I can express my emotions through my characters.

Hmm... something to ponder about.

No need to. This task of sharing myself with others is indeed a challenge for me. Let's do it together -with no judgments.
