Mother's Day

This couldn't be any more accurate. My children are the center of my world. Everything I do, every decision I make, I bear them in mind. They are my everything, the love in my heart, my smiles, my tears, my laughter, my worries, all of it. My mother used to tell me when I was younger, "You'll understand when you're a mother." I get it now.

When deciding to share my romance novels with the public, I had to keep in mind my kids might not be so understanding of my specific genre, that it might be embarrassing for them. They are extremely proud of me for following my dreams and I fully get how the explicitness of my stories can be somewhat difficult for them, not that they are permitted to read my books - the thought alone is completely mortifying to me. But when their friends ask, "What kind of books does your mom write?" I understand their discomfort (their teachers certainly appreciate it). With that being said, my books are for mature audiences and my kids know that. So I continue to pursue my dreams because I'm entitled to.

As a mom, I have many roles, as all of us mom's do: Administrative Assistant, Therapist, Chauffeur, Chef, Cheerleading Captain (to cheer them on for all they do), Laundry Attendant, Tutor, Spiritual Advisor, Life Coach, Housekeeper, Educator, as well as many others. So with all the different parts we play and all we do for others, it only makes sense for there to be room to add Wish Fulfiller to the list and pursue our own desires like we encourage our children to do. Writing is a dream come true for me, especially having the ability to share my works with others, and I feel more than blessed to have the opportunity to free that creative part of myself.
